Subject: Victory Congratulation Letters on your homepage

"Dear Homa

I am very happy about your victory against this abusive kind of settlement arbitration in Ontario. Congratulations! That's encouraging and inspiring.
It is very important to defend freedom, democracy and womens' human rights from fundamentalism and cultural relativism.
In my opinion, offenders like Taliban are among the worst criminals and enemies of freedom today. And what they do on the political sphere, the
honor-murderers do quite alike in the area of domestic violence. It's so dreadful that it even reminds me of Hitler and the Nazis.
I wish you all the best and a lot of success for your work. I support you standing up for freedom, democracy and womens'human rights. Onward!!!

Kindest regards
Cornelia

Subject: Congratulations for your victory!

Dear Homa,

Although with a bit of delay (due mainly to work/school issues) I want to sincerely congratulate you for your victory. I knew very little about Islam until recently. Since I began my graduate studies, I have had the chance to become friends with several muslims in my school, both men and women. And, while I respect the right of people to practice whatever
religion they choose, I vigorously stand for secular governments which apply the same law to all of its citizens.

There have been many people who have died so we, in the Western world, can enjoy the prosperity and freedoms which come with our democratic societies. One of their most fundamentals pillars is the separation of church and state. The case of the Sharia law in Canada, and in fact of the other religious tribunals, is the closest a Western nation has been in the recent years to give up such fundamental right. Your victory was a necessary one, both for the people of Ontario but also to honor the suffering and sacrifice of those who made our lifestyle possible.

Sincerely yours,

Fernando Gomez

Hi Homa,

I am truly happy that the fight against shariah law was won. I congratulate all who have led this fight.

However, I question how long our victory will last. As you know, all religions have been welcomed in Canada where multiculturalism has been widely accepted. Unfortunately this openness leaves an opening for unscrupulous extremists who would like to change this. How do we guard against extremists from gaining control as more and more are allowed in our western culture? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Dear Homa: The list Sheila has compiled shows you how deep the feeling of relief is among those who consider that all citizens are equal before the law. Your efforts have been exemplary. I say this unequivocally as a politically conservative male atheist. The democratic fight you have put up more than suggests to me that you should be sponsored as the next governor general of Canada. (I understand we have just got a new one.)

Dear Homa,

We recognize the danger of militant Islam to free society.  We congratulate you on your leadership of the movement against Sharia law in Canada. There is no such protection in Iraq.  There will be no secular society there and Sharia law will apply.

See our position paper attached.  Please join in our movement to have citizens in Canada back the reformation of the proposed Iraqi Constitution to protect all religions and women. We need your leadership and input.
