Homa Arjomand coordinatrice de la campagne contre les tribunaux islamiques de justice civile au Canada sera à Lyon le 26 octobre

Homa Arjomand, militante féministe d’origine iranienne, exilée au Canada depuis l’arrivée au pouvoir de la contre-révolution islamiste en Iran, effectuera une tournée européenne et sera en France du 24 au 27 octobre pour rencontrer les associations qui ont soutenu la campagne internationale contre les tribunaux d’arbitrage religieux en Ontario.

Les Canadiennes n’avaient pas toutes les mêmes droits, en fonction de la religion de leur père ou de leur mari. En effet, depuis 1991, le gouvernement de l’Ontario, une province du Canada, autorisait l’arbitrage religieux des conflits familiaux. Les canadiens musulmans pouvaient donc sortir du système judiciaire civil et régler séparation, garde d’enfants ou héritages devant un conseil d’imams.

Grâce à la pression canadienne et internationale, le gouvernement de l’Ontario a annoncé l’abolition des tribunaux religieux, mais la pression des intégristes islamistes, soutenus par les fondamentalistes des autres religions, est très vive pour faire revenir le gouvernement sur sa décision.

Lors de ces rencontres, Homa Arjomand abordera les points suivants :

· Arbitrages religieux au Canada : De quoi s’agit-il ? Nécessité de la séparation du religieux et du politique et neutralité de l’Etat. Impact des manifestations internationales et de la manifestation en France.

· Les raisons pour lesquelles la sharia est contraire aux droits des femmes.

· L’universalité des droits des femmes.
